Lets Evolve for a Minute
So, I got it in my head that I needed a new copy of MS Office for a computer in the office. The place I like to buy software from sells Office 95, 97, 2000, XP, and 2003. Maybe I'm an idiot, but I could not for the life of me figure out what was newer, XP or 2003. There is no 2005 and I'm pretty sure windows XP came out in 2003, so who knows?

I went to microsoft's site. Of course it does not say. But they have a link that says "The newest Office: What's changed?". Now, if you are like me, you would think that this would link to a page that says clearly what the newest version of office is called.

It does not. of course.

Here is what it links to:

It is a flash animation about Human/Plastic dino hybrids who appear to be doing business. Although from their rollovers, they seem to be as confused as I am. At first I thought it was very unusual for the biggest corporation on the planet with the largest budget at their disposal to be putting Large slow loading, uninformative, confusing apps on their site; but then after thinking, it really makes total sense.

This entry is going no where. I really just wanted to post a photo of that hot Diplodocus chick.

They had a print at in Wired this month with these dudes. The ad was like "WE HAVE A PRESENTATION IN 10 MINUTES AND ALL OF OUR NUMBERS HAVE CHANGED!!!! WHAT DO WE DO???" I still don't know.

...And also for confirming you're a geek-bot both for complaining about computer application ads and for knowing that was a Diplodocus.

I used to love that show. I wonder if they have it on dvd. Its probably painfully annoying now that i'm older.

Maybe the problem is you are too smart? They are aiming more towards people like me with that site -- I think its exciting, helpful and true to life! I know at office if my co-workers or I are confused by something or have a stupid question we have to wear a rubber dinosaur heads and sit in the break room till we can figure it out -- its kind of like the modern day dunce cap. You'd be "in the know" if you worked in offices more often...
